The last day to apply for a mail ballot for the primary. Applications must be received by your city or town's board of canvassers, not just postmarked, so don't leave it to the last mail pickup.
Apply for a mail ballotEarly in-person voting runs for twenty days. The window closes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, the day before the primary. If your Wednesday is complicated, this is the easiest way to make sure your vote counts.
Find early voting locationsThis is the one. Note the day: unlike most years, Rhode Island's primary falls on a Wednesday, not a Tuesday. Bring a photo ID. If you're unable to present one, you have the right to cast a provisional ballot.
